Theresa and Jessica both got to come up and took turns watching each others’ kids (all 6 of them). I was so excited to have friends come up and visit because in North Carolina, we did not have the awesome group that we have here. If you want to see what was going on while they were each visiting me, here is Jessica’s blog. It’s quite amusing.
Then the Poppa and Nonna brought up the boys to see their new brother.
Poppa has to have his grandchild and big hat picture.
Our new family.
Going home. Well, not exactly. I noticed the first night that he had a tongue tie. Having dealt with that with Aiden (and the pain that comes with it) I mentioned it to the lactation consultant when she came in the next day. That woman was motivated (as I have found that most lactation consultants are). She left and came back within 30 minutes or so and had us an appointment downtown with an ENT and permission from the on call pediatrician to leave early so that we could make it to their office before the closed. The nursery nurse was the only one not completely on board and told me to my face that the only reason we were getting to leave early was because my husband was a pediatrician. Since it was a holiday weekend, I didn’t care. Eli turned 1 day old in the ENT’s office. and it was a quick fix and everything is great!
Aunt Lisa and Emma came over after church on Sunday.
And even cousin Cindy happened to be in town from San Antonio and got to stop by for a couple of minutes.
It took Seth a while to warm up to Eli, but in his own time he asked to hold him, and actually seemed to enjoy his new little brother.
First bath: we warned the boys that Eli would not like his first bath and that even though he would cry a lot, that nothing was really wrong. They were very intrigued by the whole process.
I have no idea what was said in this picture to get Seth’s face like this, but I though it was funny.
