Advent candle and Baptism

I’m going to take a moment to brag.  (This is for those of you who weren’t there.)  We lit the Advent candle on the 15th.  I had asked Aiden if he wanted to read the part in front of the church.  I warned him there would be a lot of people in the church looking at him, because that was what I was terrified of.  He could have cared less.  He grabbed that mic when it was his turn and read his whole part so well and so clearly even my dad was able to understand him.  (Sorry Daddy.)  He did a fantastic job!

And then we had Eli baptized.  I did not intentionally plan on them being in the same service, it just kinda came together that way, but I was glad it did so my family could see Aiden do that.

It was a blessed day!

Santa

Apparently when you’ve already seen Santa at school (Seth), it’s not a good idea to go see him again.  Seth almost had a meltdown when it was our turn.

On another note, we went to look at Christmas lights after the Christmas Eve service, and a yard had a stuffed Santa sitting on a bench.  Seth says, “That’s the Santa that came to my school.  He didn’t make me cry.”  The logic here is that the stuffed Santa didn’t make him cry so it must be the same as the one at school.

Karate Christmas

The Lil Dragons got to demonstrate at the Christmas party.  They also had door prizes and somehow, Aiden and Seth’s names got drawn back to back.  Aiden got a t-shirt.  Seth got a pair of nun-chucks.  Yep, that’s what I said.  Master Peavey laughed and looked at Scott and said “Sorry Dad!”

They did sparring too, they use these little rubber knives.  At this party, Seth had only gone to 3 classes, but he loves it and pays so much attention.

Birthday boys!

My big 6 year old!!!

IMG_1594

Their party was Aiden’s actual birthday, so there’s not a lot of pictures this year of just him.

IMG_1603

And my big 4 year old!!!

IMG_1822

Seth had his 4 year old well check the morning of his birthday, so for lunch I put a candle in his spoonful of peanut butter.  He loved it.

IMG_1824

He helped make the cupcakes for us to have at dinner.

IMG_1833

I love my boys!!!

And then there was the left over balloons from the party.

He didn’t have a birthday, he’s just cute.

Robots, well sort of

We were going to do a robot party for Aiden and Seth…

IMG_1605-2

But that somehow evolved into a science party.  I mean, without science, there’d be no robots!

You know you’re doing good when the parents are watching as intently as the kids.

IMG_1616

I do not have any pictures of any of the kids making elephant toothpaste.  If you are reading this and have pics, please let me know!!!

Then for some cupcakes!

IMG_1624

IMG_1177

And of course a piñata, because what’s wrong with almost thirty 4 to 6 year olds swinging a bat?

IMG_1180

IMG_1183

Let me tell you, that was one heavy-duty piñata.  I didn’t see how it got broken, but it took a LONG time.

Christmas Pageant

Whew, got a lot of pictures, got to start somewhere.  So I’ve looked through what Scott took, and there will be a lot of pictures here, but I have to tell the story.  Not the story of the pageant, but the story of my kids in the pageant, because, you know, their my kids.
Anyway, we’ll start with Aiden.  They're not singing yet, so I guess I can’t be too upset that his fingers are in his mouth…again.
IMG_1644
Nope, not singing here.  Yawning.
IMG_1650
Enter Seth, stage left.  He did not want to be a bumble bee.  He wanted to be a bunny rabbit… like Logan… who was actually a donkey.
IMG_1662
Oooo, caught him singing!
IMG_1688
Oops, lost his attention.
IMG_1695
Check back in with Seth…still sulking.
IMG_1697
Ha, he finally forgot his was supposed to be mad!
IMG_1711
IMG_1713
And now he’s finally interested in the play because…
IMG_1718
Saint Nicholas came to visit the baby Jesus.  Hmmm… funny timeline there.
IMG_1719
But so was Martin Luther so, why not?
IMG_1770
Check back in with Aiden…and he’s singing!
IMG_1727
And yawning again.
IMG_1728
And again.
IMG_1741
Yep, you got it.
IMG_1747
And I know these were all yawns and not just him singing with enthusiasm because I had a good clear view of him and every time he yawned, so did I.  (No offense to all you choir directors, it had been a VERY long weekend.)
IMG_1750
And then something loud happened, I can’t remember what, but again Seth was so over the bumble bee costume.  It’s really funny because almost every day they sing this Buzz Buzz song they hear in our friend’s car that we carpool with.  You’d think he’d have been psyched about being a bee.
IMG_1759
Great job everyone!
